HEALTH HEROES essentially involves encouraging students to take “health hero” challenges, about 6-8 weeks in length, to adopt healthy behaviors or complete projects that promote or inspire others to adopt healthy behaviors (healthy eating, daily physical activity, hand-washing, brushing, and a community component, helping others). Students receive prizes, certificates, and nameplates that are displayed on a Heath Hero Wall of Fame for completing the challenges. Click HERE a one page program overview. The program is a true school, family, and community partnership and actively engages all three. Our community partner, CARE: Community Alliance for Research & Engagement, helped to develop the program and will sponsor 4 schools this year.
We kicked off the program October 20th in conjunction with the Chefs Move to Schools kick-off at Barnard Environmental Studies Magnet School, read more HERE.
