Department of Food and Nutrition Services

Here at New Haven Public Schools, we believe eating well and exercise lead to healthy productive students. We strive to provide good quality meals utilizing ingredients from many local producers, promoting the health and wellness of our students, allowing them to be more productive in the classroom.

Our vision is to be the exemplar school food service program in the nation, focusing on our mission is to provide our students the best meals and service possible by replicating complaint operations, developing our teams, and striking the right balance in efficiency and innovation for the students of New Haven Public Schools.

Our department is comprised of over 200 employees from our Central Kitchen and campus teams, which prepare, deliver and serve over 7.5 million nutritious meals in a typical school year!

The programs we offer are under the guidelines and policies set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture and Connecticut Department of Education.
