The Center for Fine Arts

The Center for Fine Arts will encourage participants to develop a sense of creative expression and aesthetic awareness.  Students will be able to demonstrate the basic processes and techniques in production and exhibition.  Through this fine arts curriculum, students will explore a variety of career opportunities and develop a life-long commitment to the arts.

The arts constitute a fundamental component of education whose purpose in the schools is to develop intuition, reasoning, imagination, and dexterity into unique forms of expression and communication.

Study in the arts enables students to experience ways we express feelings, create, communicate ideas, and understand and preserve history, traditions, and culture.

Students learn to identify, appreciate, and participate in the traditional art forms of their own communities as well as gain knowledge of the fine arts in historical and cultural settings.

It focuses on educating students regarding the importance of fine arts in our global society.  It encourages the integration of all subject matter throughout the curriculum.

Through the Center of Fine Arts program, students will be able to:

Ø     Respect fine arts from various time periods.

Ø     Expand the role of fine arts in our own society, in other cultures, and expand the interrelationships among the arts and of the arts to other disciplines.

Ø     Demonstrate the basic process and techniques in production, exhibition, and performance in the fine arts.

This program will feature small class sizes, to enable personalized instruction.

No previous art experience will be required to enter this program.
