PHOTOGRAPHY Photography I Grade(s) 9, 10, 11, 12 1 Credit Level: III Length of Course: Full Year Prerequisite: None Description: The students will explore the basic fundamentals of black and white photography and Digital photography. Areas such as camera handling, scenic photography, action photography, composition, studio portraits, studio still-lifes, film processing, photographic printing, oil coloring, PowerPoint presentations, and mounting will be covered. Assessment Methods: 60% Photographic Projects, (shooting, film processing, printing, etc.), 12% tests (end of each marking period), 8% written report, 15% quizzes, 5% textbook questions.
Digital Photography Grade(s) 10, 11, 12 ˝ Credit Level: III Length of Course: Half Year Prerequisite: Fine Arts Program only Description: digital photography takes us into the twenty-first century. We will integrate the art of photography with the technology of computers. Various programs will be used such as: Adobe Photo Shop, MS Publisher, MS PowerPoint, and Macromedia Dream Weaver. Assessment Method: 60% Photographic projects (shooting, film processing, printing, etc.), 12% test (end of each marking period), 8% written report, 15% quizzes, 5% textbook questions.
Traditional Photography Grade(s) 10, 11, 12 ˝ Credit Level: III Length of Course: Half Year Prerequisite: Fine Arts Program only Description: The students will explore the basic fundamentals of photography. Single Lens Reflex cameras, composition, the photographic studio, film processing, photographic printing, mounting and photo oil coloring will be covered. Photography will be taught as both a science and as a fine art. It truly can be a means of expression, a form of communication, as well as tools to be used to document the world around us.
Assessment Method: 60% Photographic projects (shooting, film processing, printing, etc.), 12% test (end of each marking period, 8% written report, 15% quizzes, 5% textbook questions.
